Acceptance and application
By accessing or using a Cognisive website, published resource, enquiry channel, or service, you agree to these Terms. A signed mandate, proposal, statement of work, confidentiality agreement, or other written engagement document takes precedence where its terms differ from this public page.
Entity and brand
Cognisive is a brand owned and operated by Cognisive Operations (PVT) Ltd, part of the Vonfidel Group. Where an engagement is delivered by another Group entity, that entity will be identified in the relevant written documents.
Nature and scope of services
Depending on the mandate, services may include strategic advisory, decision-grade intelligence and risk work, executive protective intelligence and discretion-led security services, information and authority systems, and high-trust operations advisory or management in agricultural, hospitality, and related production environments.
Services are mandate-specific. They do not constitute legal advice, regulated financial advice, governmental authority, law-enforcement power, or emergency response unless expressly stated in a valid written agreement and lawfully permitted.
Selective engagement and lawful use
Cognisive may decline, pause, or end an engagement where fit, authority, lawful purpose, operational boundaries, conflicts, safety, payment, or reputational considerations are not satisfactory. Services and published materials must not be used for unlawful activity, deception, harassment, rights infringement, or interference with third parties.
Confidentiality and information handling
Information exchanged in connection with an enquiry or engagement may be confidential. Do not send highly sensitive material through an initial contact channel until a suitable channel and engagement boundary have been confirmed.
Unless a written agreement provides otherwise, each party remains responsible for its own systems, credentials, records, personnel, and lawful disclosure obligations.
Intellectual property
The Cognisive brand, website content, methodologies, frameworks, systems, written materials, and other intellectual property belong to Cognisive Operations (PVT) Ltd or the applicable Vonfidel Group entity identified in writing. No license, assignment, reproduction right, or transfer is granted except as expressly stated in a written agreement.
Fees and commercial terms
Fees, taxes, payment schedules, expenses, deliverables, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and cancellation terms are governed by the applicable proposal, agreement, invoice, or other written commercial document. Non-payment may result in suspension, withholding of deliverables, termination, and lawful recovery action.
Published information and availability
Public material is provided for general information and does not create an advisory relationship. Websites, resources, and services may be corrected, updated, restricted, suspended, or discontinued. Continuous availability, completeness, or error-free operation is not guaranteed.
Disclaimers and liability
- No specific operational, commercial, legal, security, or reputational outcome is guaranteed.
- Decisions remain the responsibility of the authorised decision-maker unless a written agreement expressly allocates responsibility otherwise.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, reputational, or economic loss is excluded.
- Any aggregate liability is limited as stated in the applicable written agreement or, where none applies, to fees paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Suspension and termination
Access or service may be suspended or terminated for breach, misuse, non-payment, conflict, safety concerns, unlawful purpose, loss of authority, or material legal, ethical, operational, or reputational risk.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Unless a written engagement agreement provides a different lawful dispute mechanism, the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction.
